Summer is here at last! Now we can officially get excited about the local events that are taking place in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park - located just a couple of miles from our accommodation at our Mile End campus!

Summer is here at last! Now we can officially get excited about the local events that are taking place in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park - located just a couple of miles from our accommodation at our Mile End campus!

Highlights this year include the Open East Festival, Prudential RideLondon and Lollibop children's festival! (More details can be found below).

We have availability in our 3 star campus graded accommodation at the time of these events and as we are located just 1 tube stop from the venue, a journey time of just 15 minutes door to door, we are ideally placed!

OPEN EAST FESTIVAL:

Date: 27th – 28th July 2013

On the first anniversary of the London 2012 Games, the north of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park opens for a packed weekend of entertainment and activity, art and food.

The celebration event includes attractions such as waterside gigs, communal feasts, pop-up shows, world music with soul, floating cinemas, wandering giants and big screen athletics!

PRUDENTIAL RIDELONDON:

Date: 3rd – 4th August 2013

The Olympic legacy lives on in this weekend of cycling which begins in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park! This event will see both professional and amateur cyclists take part in events including the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 and the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic!

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 will allow amateur cyclists the experience of riding in the tracks of their heroes along 100 miles of the Olympic road race route. The ride begins in the Park, heads out through the stunning countryside of Surrey and finishes on the Mall.

Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic is a race between 150 of the world’s top cyclists which also starts in the Park and passing through 12 London boroughs and parts of Surrey, before finishing on the Mall.

LOLLIBOP FESTIVAL:

Date: 16th – 18th August 2013

Dubbed as ‘The Big Bash for Little People’, Lollibop is the UK’s largest festival for children under 10 years old! The event lasts for 3 days and offers a range of entertainment from sports, performances, workshops and celebrity guests!
